Getting started in mapping
Hello peeps.
Back again, this week i have found a few videos that can help you get started in Call of Duty mapping . Videos are the basics of radaint, the program you use to create maps.

First Map {S-K} Square
Here is a map i done for my clan called Square.
Two buildings either side of a river. It is a sniper map .
The first picture you see above is of radiant, the program you use to make maps with, as you can see the terrain is all laid out first & textured. Then i use a texture called 'Caulk' which is the yellow looking stuff, this is used to map out the buildings & you can do almost anything with tit, like bend it to make curves etc. Full houses are made out of this, then i re texture it to suit the map.
Above is the map now with a brick texture on the walls, also with doors windows marked out . At the sides models have been added IE he tree & tanks, more of these will be used throughout the map.
Above is the map complete, the image you see is the loadscreen that shows when you are loading the map in game.
Next time ill show you a more complex map with greater detail in how to make one.
